For the third consecutive year, Sunshine Ace Hardware has been recognized by Ace Hardware Corp. The local store earned another Pinnacle Performance Retailing designation recognizing its perfection of the 12 points of an overall shopping experience. Owned and operated by the Wynn family since 1958, Sunshine Ace Hardware has seven locations in Collier, Lee and Charlotte counties.
Jane Borchers, Maegan Evans- Dustin, Diane McCaw and Judi Embrescia have joined the board of trustees of The Shelter for Abused Women & Children.
A retired art teacher, Ms. Borchers holds a master of fine arts in visual studies from The Minneapolis Collage of Art and Design. She is a previous board member of Friends of Art at the Philharmonic, The United Arts Council of Collier County and The League Club. Her community involvement includes also Greater Naples Leadership, Royal Poinciana Golf Club, Naples Garden Club, Daughters of the American Revolution and Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.
Ms. Evans-Dustin serves as a managing director at Falls River Group LLC in Naples, where she has been involved with more than 150 domestic and international merger and acquisition transactions. She founded the Women’s Economic Round Table in Washington, D.C., and was awarded a fellowship with the U.S. Attorney General’s office for the Improvements in the Administration of Justice. She also taught adult education courses while completing her doctorate in behavioral sciences at the University of Maryland.
A retired nurse and member of The Shelter Guild, Ms. McCaw hopes to raise awareness among the medical community regarding the signs of domestic violence. She volunteers with the Naples Community Hospital Foundation and served on the 2015 Magnolia Ball committee. She has also been involved with fundraising for hospitals in Toronto and New York.
Ms. Embrescia is an interior designer who moved to Naples from Palm Beach, where she was active with several organizations, including the Center for Family Services, which provides programs to children suffering from domestic violence, sexual abuse or homelessness.
Christy’s Cause announces the following new members of its newly incorporated advisory council: Jeff Cecil, partner in charge of the Naples office of Porter Wright Attorneys; Sam Galloway III, Coconut Point Ford; and Wayne Smith, retired president of the Wayne Smith Company in Washington, D.C., and current president of the Estero Community Improvement Foundation and is the trustee for the Smith Family Foundation. Christy’s Cause works to eradicate child sex trafficking through education, public awareness, restoration projects and justice initiatives.
Dr. Leena Plavumkal of Vet on Wheels has expanded her mobile veterinary services to include Collier County in addition to Lee County. The clinic makes house calls to care for dogs, cats and small pets such as rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, rats, birds and ferrets. Services include wellness exams, vaccinations, lab tests, teeth cleaning, micro-chipping, health certificates and private euthanasia.
Dr. Plavumkal has been practicing veterinary medicine in Southwest Florida for 16 years. She received her doctor of veterinary medicine from the University of Florida in 2001.
Founder Chuck Ardezzone says the expansion allows ITZ to continue its pursuit of feature films, scripted and reality television shows, commercials and a new division producing personal legacy documentaries. The complex consists of eight offices, a conference room, costume room, screening room and stateof the-art camera, sound and lighting equipment. In addition to ITZ productions it is available for rent to other production companies.
Brenda Wright has joined Markham Norton Mosteller Wright & Co., P.A. as an executive assistant to the tax and business consulting area for Karen Mosteller. Ms. Wright has worked in management for more that 25 years, with 17 of those focused in the medical field. Prior to joining MNMW, she was the executive assistant to the CEO and COO at Eye Centers of Florida.
Rob Edwards has been named a financial advisor at Moran Edwards Asset Management Group of Wells Fargo Advisors. Mr. Edwards earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Florida State University and a master’s degree from the University of Notre Dame. He is a committee member for the David Lawrence Center Young Executives and a 2015 graduate of the Growing Associates in Naples program of Leadership Collier. ¦
