COURTESY PHOTO The Collier County Council of Hispanic Business Professionals has elected officers and directors for 2009-2010. The nonprofit, nonpartisan organization seeks to bridge the gap between Latin business professionals and the greater community. It promotes business opportunities in the Hispanic population, encourages and empowers professionals to be active in the civic, social, cultural and political life of Southwest Florida and fosters individual and professional development.

Serving as CHBP president for 2009 is Maria Ramos, human resources manager at Royal Poinciana Golf Club. Joining her on the board are: Maria Botana (vice president), vice president and branch manager at Bank United on Hammock Cove; Raymond Cabral, real estate agent with John R. Wood & Associates; Luis Bernal, CEO of Luis Bernal International Consultants; Adriana Buitrago, student accounts coordinator at Hodges University and owner of www. WannaBeFound.com; Olivia Hernandez, vice president and branch manager at Bank United's Neapolitan Way office; Orlando Delgado, agent with State Farm Insurance; Nelida Lao, CPA with Hill, Barth & King; Andrew Solis, attorney with Cohen & Grigsby; and Steve Hart, writer.

The CHBP meets for lunch on the third Wednesday of the month at Shula's Steak House in the Naples Hilton. Membership is not limited to Hispanics; a wide crosssection of Collier County society and culture is welcome.
