FWC has recommendations for when black bears threaten
The recent killing of a black bear by a San Carlos Park man and the discovery earlier this year of two slain bears in Collier County underscore the need for Floridians to understand that such action is only permissible if the animal poses a threat, according Gary Morse, a Lakeland-based spokesman for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Music to their ears: Young musicians collect scholarships in Collier County
The Naples Music Club has awarded nearly $17,000 in scholarships to college-bound musicians. Twenty-five recipients received their awards during a recital at Golden Gate High School earlier this month.
