Higher Education

Judy Sproul has established the Juliet C. Sproul Chair for Southwest Florida Habitat Restoration and Management at Florida Gulf Coast University. Proceeds each year from this newly created endowment fund will help the university attract and retain an internationally renowned scholar in the field of tropical systems and ecology. In addition, the eminent scholar holding the Sproul Chair will conduct lectures and seminars for the community. FGCU is conducting a national search for this position, which will begin in the fall 2010 semester. Primary work will take place at the university’s nearly completed Harvey Kapnick Education and Research Center on the Naples Botanical Garden campus.
