Governor calls special session on oil drilling
Some local lawmakers are complaining about having to head back to Tallahassee for a special session this summer. Gov. Charlie Crist called the session last week with the intention of passing an amendment to the state’s constitution prohibiting oil drilling in waters within Florida’s jurisdiction, up to 10 miles off the coast.
