Naples Preserve hosts Fakahatchee history talk

Author Marya Repko presents “The History of the Fakahatchee” at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, at the Naples Preserve. The free program will cover “fishermen and farmers, loggers and locomotives, Gladesmen and ghost orchids, developers and conservationists” and the effort to save the unique ecology of the Fakahatchee Strand from development.

In addition to “A Brief History of the Fakahatchee,” Ms. Repko has written history books about Everglades City and Sanibel Island.

The Naples Preserve is at the corner of U.S. 41 and Fleischmann Boulevard. For more information, call 695-2905. 
