Paradise Coast Paddling Festival

The Paradise Coast Paddlers Club hosts the seventh annual Paradise Coast Paddling Festival on Saturday and Sunday, April 14-15, at Capri Fish House on Isles of Capri Boulevard.

The weekend includes a day of education from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 14. On the program:

¦ Retired oceanographer and renowned sea kayaker Ken Fink will discuss the fundamentals of kayaking.

¦ Greg Stamer, gold medalist in multiple Greenland National Kayaking Championships, and Naples’ own Jay Rose will team up to instruct Greenland style paddling and standard and Greenland rolling classes.

¦ Chris Boland, owner of Naples Kayak Company, and Mr. Rose will present an introduction to kayaking for novice paddlers.

Registration for each class is $69 per person, and space is limited. Sign up by sending a check payable to Paradise Coast Paddlers Club to: PCPC, 6182 Westport Lane, Naples, FL 34116.

Sunday activities from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. will include free guided tours, safety demonstrations, kayak rescue clinics and the 3.2-mile Johnson Island Paddling Race.
