Vincent van Gogh painted “A Pair of Shoes” in 1886. It hangs in the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. The famous image of a pair of beaten up workboots reminded a visitor there of Silvio Palomba, who had opened Silvio’s Shoe Repair in Naples in 1980. The museum visitor later gave Mr. Palomba a framed print of the painting. Full Story
