Armchair travelers and adventurers alike will enjoy professional kiteboarder’s stories

ASPEN PHOTOS Wellfit Institute continues its Adventure Speaker Series to entertain, inspire and educate our community with tales from off-the-beaten-path travel and adventure fitness at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at lululemon athletics in Waterside Shops.

Professional kiteboarder Damien Leroy is the second of four guests lined up for the series.

A two-time Kiteboarder of the Year, Mr. Leroy was a professional ski racer earlier in his career. He has competed and won all over the world in both sports and has also been a fly-fishing guide and a pilot. Today he represents adventure sports as a sponsored athlete and innovator in stand-up paddleboard surfing and kiteboarding. He is also an active voice in the effort to add kiteboarding to the 2016 Olympics in Brazil.

Dates and speakers for the next two programs are TBA.

Each program lasts an hour and includes storytelling, videos and photography. Following the presentation, guests can continue the conversation with the speaker at a restaurant nearby.

“Our speakers are carefully selected to engage both the armchair adventurers alongside the most seasoned world travelers in our community,”” says Jill Wheeler off Wellfit Institute. Attendance at eachch program is free. Organicnic and gluten-free catererrer Sage Events will providede complementary appetizers at the upcoming program.
