College-bound Grace Place girls hit the Bargain Box

1 1 The Bargain Box thrift shop recently opened its doors to Grace Place for Children & Families’ soon-to-be high school graduates for a congratulatory complementary shopping trip. The students, who will graduate May 30 from Golden Gate High School, each filled a shopping bag with clothing and dormroom essentials for the next phase of their education. All of the young shoppers are participants in the AP Leadership program at Grace Place, which this year boasts a 100 percent graduation rate, with 100 percent of graduates continuing on to college.

In operation for more than 38 years, the Bargain Box is an outreach mission of Naples United Church of Christ. The store is on 10th Street South just east of U.S. 41. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Saturday. For more information, including volunteer opportunities and how to donate items, call 262-3802 or visit www.bargainboxnaples.com.
