Sandra Kauanui, Ph.D., department chair of management, director of the Institute for Entrepreneurship and a professor of management at the Lutgert College of Business at Florida Gulf Coast University, has been selected to receive the first-ever Breaking Par Award from Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida. Created as a way to recognize an individual who has demonstrated longstanding commitment and passion for Junior Achievement’s mission through volunteerism, advocacy and generosity, the inaugural award will be presented at the Breaking Par for Junior Achievement auction gala Saturday, April 25, at The Club at Grandezza. Ms. Kauanui has served on the board of directors of JASWFL since July 2014 and has volunteered in support of the organization’s EO Academy since 2011. She came to FGCU in 2007 from the College of Business at California State Polytechnic University.

Home Watching

John Grusemeyer’s Southwest Florida Home Watch has joined Your Home Watch Professionals as an affiliate business. Mr. Grusemeyer‘s company provides home watch services to seasonal residents in Pelican Bay, Pelican Marsh, Park Shore, Old Naples, The Dunes and Naples Park, among other Naples neighborhoods. The affiliate designation requires business owners to completeyou’re your Home Watch Professionals training program, be insured and bonded, pass background checks and take part in continuous training. Mr. Grusemeyer retired as a New Jersey state trooper. He opened Southwest Florida Home Watch in October 2013. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey.


Leticia Rocha has been promoted to senior vice president-director of residential lending for First Florida Integrity Bank (formerly First National Bank of the Gulf Coast). Ms. Rocha has more than 32 years of experience in the banking industry. She began with First Florida Integrity Bank as an assistant vice presidentresidential lender in April 2010. Prior to that she was with First National Bank of Florida, CNL Bank and Fifth Third bank in residential and consumer lending.

Kate Walter has joined Pushing the Envelope Inc. as public relations and project manager to provide public relations and marketing counsel to a variety of the firm’s hospitality, nonprofit and entertainment clients. Ms. Walter earned a bachelor’s degree in telecommunication, a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in international communication from the University of Florida. She belongs to the Junior League of Fort Myers and the Florida Public Relations Association- Southwest Florida Chapter. She serves on the board of directors of AMIkids Southwest Florida. ¦
