Members of Naples Newcomers Club North learned how to prepare for a hurricane and develop a wildfire action plan during a recent program by Lt. Christopher Spencer and Heather Mazurekiewicz, far left and far right, of the North Collier Fire Control and Rescue District. The program was part of the club’s April meeting. Members gather for lunch and a program on the second Thursday of each month at country clubs throughout Collier County. ¦ The Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 1067-Naples meets at 7 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month at Naples Municipal Airport. The next meeting is June 7. Members also serve a pancake breakfast from 8-11 a.m. on the second Sunday of each month in the pilots’ lounge at Naples Municipal Airport. Admission for $5 includes coffee, pancakes, bacon or sausage and orange juice. All proceeds benefit the EAA Young Eagles program that acquaints youth ages 8-17 with aviation as a career. The next breakfast is June 11.

The Naples EAA chapter is one of approximately 1,700 chapters worldwide. Members are pilots, student pilots, plane builders and aviation enthusiasts.
