Bike rides followed by presentations

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office and Naples Velo host the second annual Donut Ride in celebration of Bicycle Safety Month on Saturday morning, May 20.

Cyclists of all skill levels are invited to join one of several group rides as well as to sit in on a bicycle safety presentation by CCSO representatives and to take part in a bicycle maintenance clinic offered by Naples Cyclery.

Rides start and presentations take place at Fit & Fuel Café, 819 Vanderbilt Beach Road in North Naples. Free doughnuts and cycling safety T-shirts will be available. Here’s the schedule:

7 a.m. – Regular Velo Fort Myers ride, 40 miles at an unlimited pace; alternate ride at a 23-24 mph pace.

8 a.m. – 30-mile ride to Coconut Road and back, 18-19 mph pace.

9 a.m. – 10-mile ride in Pelican Bay, 14-15 mph pace.

10 a.m. – Bike safety presentation.

10:30 a.m. – Bicycle maintenance clinic.

Naples Velo, a member of the League of American Bicyclists and the Florida Bicycle Association, is a nonprofit organization that promotes cycling at all skill levels and is dedicated to improving cycling safety and awareness in Southwest Florida. ¦
